Cookie Policy
This page explains the cookies and similar technologies the site uses, what each one does, how long it remains on your device, and how to manage them. Personal-data handling is covered on the Privacy Policy page; this is the technical companion. The site is described on the About page, with the operator review on the Villento Casino homepage.
1. What a cookie is, briefly
A cookie is a tiny text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. The next time you load the site, the browser sends the file back, letting it recognise the visit, remember a setting, or tally traffic. Cookies can't execute code, can't read other files, and can't identify you personally unless other data is already tied to them. Other browser-storage mechanisms (localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB) work much the same way; here, "cookie" covers them all.
2. Categories of cookies used on this site
Three categories, surfaced on the first visit through a consent banner that you can revisit at any point via the link in the footer.
| Category | Purpose | Consent required |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Make the site work: load the page, remember your cookie-banner choice, route traffic, block abuse. | No (legal basis: legitimate interest) |
| Analytics | Anonymous, aggregated traffic measurement: which pages are read, where readers arrive from, which links are clicked. | Yes |
| Affiliate tracking | Recognise that a click through to Villento Casino (or any partner) originated from this site so the partnership can be credited. | Yes |
This site does not use advertising or remarketing cookies. The site carries no display advertising, no programmatic ad network and no cross-site pixel tracking. The funding model is detailed on the Affiliate Disclosure page.
3. Specific cookies, third parties and lifetimes
| Name | Set by | Category | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
kb_consent | This site | Strictly necessary | Saves your cookie-banner choice so the banner does not reappear on every page load. | 12 months |
kb_session | This site | Strictly necessary | Anonymous session identifier used to load assets and rate-limit abusive traffic. | Until browser closes |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 | Analytics | Aggregated traffic statistics. IP addresses are anonymised before storage. | 14 months |
kb_aff | This site | Affiliate tracking | Logs that a click on an outbound Villento Casino link came from this site so the partnership is credited. | 30 days |
Third-party policies: Google Privacy & Terms covers Google Analytics. Villento Casino and other partner sites set their own cookies once you click through; those are governed by the operator's own privacy policy.
4. How to control cookies in your browser
Every modern browser allows you to block cookies, remove saved ones, or refuse third-party cookies. Official documentation:
Private or incognito mode is another option, preventing cookies from persisting across sessions.
5. What happens if you decline non-essential cookies
The site keeps working normally. You can read every page, follow every internal link, and click through to Villento Casino. Three small differences appear: traffic statistics will not include your visit; if you click an affiliate link with affiliate tracking declined, the partnership cannot be credited (Villento Casino still treats you exactly the same; only the commission does not register); and the consent banner reappears if you wipe your cookies, because the choice itself is stored in a cookie. Editorial standards sit on the Editorial Policy page, and player-safety commitments on the Responsible Gaming page.
6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
This site honours the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: if GPC is sent by your browser, all non-essential cookies are blocked automatically and the consent banner does not appear. The older Do Not Track header has no agreed enforcement standard and is not relied on.
7. Updates to this policy
If the cookies change, this page is refreshed and the "Last updated" date is changed. Material changes (new categories, new third parties) come with a one-time consent banner refresh. Minor housekeeping changes do not trigger a fresh prompt.
8. Questions and complaints
For questions about specific cookies, the best route is the Contact page. The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) at priv.gc.ca handles complaints under PIPEDA.
